About Cactus Leather

Developed by young Mexican entrepreneurs in the state of Jalisco, cactus leather offers multiple environmental benefits in comparison with other vegan leathers, either plant based (better transpiration and flexibility) or polyurethanes (toxic chemical-free). On the other hand, cow leather has nearly three times the environmental impacts of its vegan counterparts. Not to mention that cattle ranching is the largest driver of deforestation in the world’s tropical forests.

Cactus leather is:

ORGANIC

Comes from organic certified cactus plantations. It is herbicide free and pesticide free. So much so that all the remaining organic cactus material not used in the manufacturing process is exported and sold nationally in the food industry.

TOXIC CHEMICAL FREE

Cactus leather is PVC FREE. PHTHALATE  FREE. TOXICITY FREE.

TOP QUALITY

LOW ENERGY & RESOURCES INTENSIVE

Cactus requires little water to thrive. Furthermore, cactus leather is made from fields fully watered with rainwater, no industrial irrigation systems are utilized. The pruning process is regenerative. When the time comes to cut mature leaves the plant is left undamaged to enable repeat harvesting. Then the leaves are sun-dried in an open sky solarium, not through electric drying panels.
